Trout Fest reports:
Karla Lewison distributed bobber drawing sheets to those in attendance and will also take to other businesses in town.
Linda Schulte and Mary Schmidt will be at the Pancake breakfast distributing tickets for a door prize drawing that will take place at bingo. The door prize is a beautiful wagon planter, made by Tony Widner, and will be filled with patio themed items being purchased by Mary Schmidt. She hopes to have the wagon on display at different businesses so as many people as possible will see it.
Tiffany Rundhaugen reported that she has 7 people signed up for rummage sales so far. She will make a list of sales and a map to be distributed to businesses to hand out to shoppers.
Joyce Stephan contacted Carol about handing out flyers for Trout Fest at the car show in Westby happening the same day. We will reciprocate by handing out flyers for the car show.
Geoff reported that he has 3 teams so far for the bags tournament. Jim Schmidt reported that he and Mary cleaned and refinished the boards saved from the flood and has had 2 more made. Karla Lewison is making new bags. We also discussed how the teams will keep score and Geoff said he would take of that.
We have 2 radio interviews scheduled. Linda Schulte will do the interview with Karen Dahl and Geoff Lenser will do the interview with Nathan Randall.
Pauline Aspenson contacted Chad Gilbeck about doing the painted hay bales again this year. We agreed to pay him $100 for time and materials and to pay Gary Gilbeck $25 for hauling.
Jim Schmidt reported that Paul Nelson will help officiate at bingo. Jim also has a cell phone charging station available for festers. He also contacted law enforcement about a flashing sign to slow traffic for people crossing the highway.
Carol Olson reported that a handicap port-a-potty has been ordered to be placed in the park for kids fishing.
Geoff Lenser reported that he has a beer trailer ordered from La Crosse Beverage. Our tap beer selections will be Busch Light, Summer Shandy and Spotted Cow. We discussed charging $2.50 for the Busch and $3.50 for the craft. Pop and water will be $1.00. We also discussed selling tickets for pop and beer with 3 different colors for the 3 different prices and selling pitchers also, with 3 tickets for a pitcher. We also discussed possibly having extra bartenders and collecting money for sales of beer and pop instead of having tickets, with a dedicated person checking ID’s and issuing wrist bands. No final decision was made.
Carol has a volunteer schedule made and will email to all members. We will also post on Facebook for community volunteers.
Tiffany Rundhaugen will contact the Coon Valley Fire Service about having a first responder on scene at the park during kids fishing.
Jill Gettlemen has 13 vendors so far for the craft show.
The La Crosse Area Beekeepers will have an observation hive outside the Village Hall.
Carol reported that there will be a scavenger hunt involving any business wishing to participate. This will hopefully bring people into each business. Contact Carol if you want to participate.
The Coon Valley Lions will be selling tip boards at the hall.
We have an additional meeting scheduled for July 16th at 5:15 at the Legion hall.
A motion to adjourn was made by Geoff Lenser and seconded by Frank Mathison. Motion carried.
