Meeting minutes from February 3, 2020
The meeting was held at the Stockyard and called to order at 5:15 by President Geoff Lenser.
The minutes of the January meeting were read before the meeting. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Zach King and seconded by Paul Lewison. The motion carried.
Beth Hanson reported that the general checking has $1638.66 and savings has $824.37, the CCCR checking has $417.01. Carol Olson reported that the bingo checking has $6089.95 and Trout Fest checking has $7238.87 and savings has $2842.05. A motion to accept the treasurer’s report was made by Amy Adam and seconded by Zach King. The motion carried.
Mark Tallman, from Wisconsin Economic Development Corp., spoke to the group about creating a strategic plan for our organization. He briefly talked about the plan and what to include and how to execute it. He suggested a 2-3 hour session where he would come back and help us form that plan. He also suggested that we invite all businesses, groups, school, churches, press and community members in Coon Valley and the area. The meeting is tentatively set for March 23rd starting at 5:30pm. Geoff Lenser is checking on a venue. He also talked about business outreach and recruiting more members.
We had 2 proposals for website creation from Bad Axe Enterprises at approximately $4385 and Grant Olson at approximately $1800. A motion to accept Grant Olson’s proposal was made by Carol Olson and seconded by Zach King. The motion carried.
Nancy Wedwick and Beth Hanson have created a power point presentation about the Connect Communities program to present to the village board at their next meeting, February 11th. The meeting starts at 7pm, and we would like to have representation from as many businesses as possible at the meeting.
Carol Olson gave a Trout Fest update. The date has been changed to May 9, 2020. The venue is the same as last year with the majority of activity at the Village Hall. Kids fishing in the park and a pancake breakfast at the Legion. Check the Trout Fest Facebook page for the event and times. Also please help share the event on your social media.
Bingo is February 13th. Linda Pederson will do the food this month. Jill Gettelman checked on prices for yard signs for bingo and trout fest. A motion to get the signs was made Zach King and seconded by Nancy Wedwick. The motion carried.
A motion to adjourn was made by Carol Olson and seconded by Paul Lewison. The motion carried.
